About this vial
What you get
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. The preservative is what separates it from plain sterile water: it allows a vial to be entered more than once without the contents supporting bacterial growth between withdrawals, which is why it is supplied in a stoppered multi-dose presentation rather than a single-use ampoule.
Each unit is a 10ml vial with a sealed elastomeric stopper and a tamper-evident flip cap. Store at controlled room temperature, away from light. Once a vial has been entered, standard laboratory practice is to date it and discard it within 28 days.
